Once upon a time lived a mummy with 3 children under the age of 5. One weekend it rained and rained and rained some more. ‘Great’ thought the mummy, ‘this will be a chance to do all those rainy day activities I’ve been saving’. So off went the TV and out came the painting, the baking, the den building, the building bricks and the jigsaws. ‘How lovely’, thought the mummy. After a few short hours though, the children grew bored of being stuck indoors and the house descended into chaos and the poor mummy wailed ‘why is there hardly anywhere to take small kids in bad weather’. Just then a lightbulb went off in the mummy’s head and a little spark of an idea grew into a big one and the mummy called it The PlayTown.
As parents ourselves we understand the importance of recreational activities for young children in the local community, as well as the significance of role play in early years’ development. We are delighted that we could combine the two! We wanted to create a space where parents could relax over good coffee and cake whilst their children enjoyed a play experience that provided something that little bit different. We hope to see you soon!
